1 RULES GOVERNING THE EVENT
1.1 Main Rules
This will be an event governed by the WS 2017-2020 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) (including Appendix A3), the Class Rules of the International Soling Class and the Sailing Instructions. In case of ambiguity the Sailing Instructions shall prevail.
1.2 Variations from the racing rules
Rule 42.3(b) is modified by Soling Class Rule C.9.1; as permitted by RRS 86.1( c ), RRS 42.3 ( c ) is altered to: Except on a beat to windward, when surfing (rapidly accelerating down the leeward side of a wave) or planing is possible, the crew may pull the sheet controlling any sail in order to initiate surfing or planing, but not more than twice for each wave or gust of wind. The pumping of the main sheet directly from the main sheet boom block is permitted. In addition, pumping of the spinnaker guy is permitted at all times without restriction. In this part of the Rule "pumping of the spinnaker guy " means repeatedly trimming and releasing the guy by any means. Moving the body as necessary to pump the guy is permitted and shall not be considered to be ooching (see RRS 42.2 ( c )), nor shall any rolling of the boat caused by such reasonably necessary movements be considered rocking (see RRS 42.2 (b)).

2. ADVERTISING
2.1 Advertising is permitted according to Class Rules.
2.2 Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.

3. ELIGIBILITY
3.1 The Championship is open to all yachts of the Italian and International Soling Associations.
3.2 ISA Individual Membership is obligatory for at least one member of the crew.
3.3 All yachts must display ISA sticker for the current year.
3.4 For the Italian competitors regular iscription to F.I.V with medical certification A, is mandatory. For all competitors, it is a condition of entry into the Championship, that the boat owner/competitor has third party liability insurance cover to a minimum value of € 1.500.000,00. A valid measurement certificate or measurement form shall be presented. The Secretariat reserves the right to reproduce documents.

4. ENTRIES
The entry fee is € 180, reduced to € 160 in case of pre-iscription. For organizational reasons, pre-registration is required by June 8, 2019. Pre-registration must be sent by fax (+39 035 983509) or e-mail (regate@avas.it) using the attached form.
The entry fee includes one crane in and one crane out, mooring during the championship, trailers parking and the provisions of the social program.
The Solings taking part to the Italian Championship (Castiglione 17-19 May) and registered for the Porta Trophy, will be allowed to park inside the Porto Turistico of Lovere in the time lapse between the two events.
The secretary of AVAS is open for settlement of entries, from 9:30 up to 10:30 of Saturday, June 15th, 2019
In case of no participation, for serious reasons, a 50% reimbursement can be considered.

5 EVENT SCHEDULE AND SCORING
5.1 Races take place in the waters in front of Lovere and Castro.
5.2 5 races are scheduled from which 3 shall be completed to constitute a valid championship. In case of necessity 3 races may be sailed in a day.
5.3 Saturday, June 15th, 12:30 a.m. Warning Signal Race 1. Warning signal for the second or following race will be given after the arrival of the last boat of the former race.
5.4 Following Races according to flag signals on Race Committee Boat.
5.5 Racing time of the next day will be noticed on the Official Notice Board before 7:00 p.m. If no communication is posted, the racing time of day before is deemed valid.
5.6 No warning signal will be given after 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 16th.
5.7 The race committee can modify the program in case of bad weather conditions or for any other circumstance

6. Social Events
- Breakfast with coffee and brioches in the morning from 9:30 to 10:30 on Saturday the 15th and on Sunday the 16th
- Welcome drink after exposure of the results of the first racing day
- Class dinner on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the clubhouse
- Buffet after the prize giving on Sunday

7. MEASUREMENTS
Measurements will not be carried out.

8. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available at the secretariat of the organizing club from 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 15th.

9. COURSES
The courses will be detailed in the Sailing Instructions.

10. SCORING
The Low Point Scoring System, RRS Appendix A2 will apply. A throw out will be allowed after the completion of four races.

11. PRIZES
Prizes for the first three boats.
Vittorio Porta perpetual trophy to the winner crew.
Prize to the first italian boat, if not already on the podium.
Prize giving will take place at the end of the event.

12. LIABILITY
According to the Racing Rules of Sailing (World Sailing 2017-2020), part 1, n 4, “Decision to Race: The responsibility for a boat''s decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone". The Organising Authority and all parties involved in the organisation accept no responsibility or liability for any loss, damage or injury which may occur to any person or property, whether ashore or afloat, as a consequence of their participation in the regatta referred to in this Notice Of Race. All competitors shall carry on board personal flotation devices. The registered boats must be in compliance with the safety equipment, in accordance with the specifications issued by the class rules.

13. LOGISTICS - PHOTOGRAPHIC AND/OR TELEVISION RIGHTS
The boats park, the secretariat and everything necessary for the event will be located at the Porto Turistico of Lovere (BG). The competitors grant full right and permission to AVAS to publish and/or transmit photographs or filming of people or boats taken during the event.
