Organizing authority
The organizing authority is the International Soling Class (ISA) in conjunction with Yachtclub Berlin-Grünau e.V., Großer Müggelsee, Berlin, Germany (YCBG) and German Soling Class Organization (GSA) Association.
1. Rules
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing latest revision.
1.2 The prescriptions of the DSV will not apply.
1.3 The ISA Class and Championship Rules will apply.
1.4 The following racing rules will be changed: 28.1, 32, 35, 42.3(c), 60.1(a), 61.3, 62.2, A4.1, A4.2 and Race Signals AP and S. The changes will appear in full in the Sailing Instructions. The Sailing Instructions may also change other racing rules.
1.5 Amendments to any of the rules applying to the regatta must be approved and signed by the ISA Liaison Officer appointed for the event.
2. Advertising category
In accordance with ISAF Regulation 20 (Advertising Code) boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.
3. Eligibility and entry
3.1 The regatta is open to all yachts of the International Soling Class as prescribed in Championship Rule 4 – Eligibility.
3.2 ISA Membership is obligatory for all crewmembers. Membership fees will be collected from any crewmember failing to present proof of previously paid membership fee.
3.3 It is also required that all yachts entering display the ISA sticker for the current year. An additional amount will be collected from the helmsman or representative of any yacht not displaying the ISA sticker of the current year at the appropriate position.
3.4 Eligible boats may enter by completing the entry forms on the event website www.solingeuropeans.com and completing registration and payment of all fees no later than September 6th, 2015.
4. Fees
The entry fee will be 450 Euros for a complete entry made before July 1st, and 600 Euros after this date, and may be paid by bank transfer to YCBG only.
The entry fee includes one crane in/out, trailer parking, ISA Championship Fees & competitor’s social events.

6.5 The first warning signal each day will be at 11:00 a.m.
6.6 On last racing day there will be no warning signal after 03:00p.m
7. Measurement
Yachts will be measured in accordance with ISA Championship Rule 7.0 Measuring and Class Rules 16 and 17. For a yacht to be eligible to race, her valid (the original or a copy of the original) Measurement Form shall be presented at the Race Office, and the helmsman must have satisfied all measurement and registration requirements as specified in this Notice of Race including the submission (at the completion of measurement) of properly completed measurement work sheets. If the Measurement Form cannot be produced before the first race, RRS 78.2 will be applied.
8. Sailing Instructions
Sailing Instructions will be available at Race office during registration.
9. Racing area
The racing area is the Lake `Großer Müggelsee`.
10. The courses
Standard ISA Championship courses will be used.
Provided acceptable wind condition the YCBG propose to the ISA CC to sail at least one race using the classic Olympic course in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Soling Class.
11. Penalty system
11.1 The Two-Turns Penalty, rule 44.2, will apply.
11.2 An International Jury will be appointed in accordance with RRS Appendix N. Their decisions will be final and not subject to appeal in accordance with RRS 70.4.
12. Scoring
12.1 The Low Points Scoring System of RRS A4 will apply.
12.2 9 races are scheduled of which 5 must be completed to constitute a valid championship.
12.3 a) When fewer than 6 races have been completed, a boat`s series score will be the total of her race scores.
b) When 6 or more races have been completed, a boat`s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
13. Support Boats
All supporting boats have to register during the register period at the Race Office. During the championship all supporting boats have to display Flag `Golf ` at any time they are out of the harbor for supporting purpose. This is a standard requirement for motor-boats set by local authority `Water and Shipping Directorate East` for entering restricted areas of the racing area.
14. Berthing
Boats shall be kept in their assigned places in the harbor. All participating boats shall be latest September 15th, 2014, 08:00 p.m at their assigned places in the harbor.
15. Haul-Out Restrictions
Keelboats shall not be hauled out during the regatta except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the race committee.
16. Radio Communication
Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

17. Prizes
The European Championship is an open event, the following prizes are awarded:
- The European Championship Perpetual Trophy - donated by the Royal Danish Yacht Club `with the intention of bringing together as many competitors of various nationalities as possible for yacht racing in a friendly spirit`.
- The Royal Yacht Club of Sweden has also donated a trophy for the European Champion.
- The British Soling Association Trophy - donated by the British Soling Association and awarded to the best-placed helmsman aged 25 years or under on the first scheduled day of racing.
- Rien Segaar Trophy - donated by the Segaar Family (NED) with the intention to award those in the middle fleet who makes the best effort to improve their country scores. Awarded to the last of the best, the third team of a country which the aggregate final scores of the three best are lower than the other countries see Deed of gift below at this championship rules
- Reloaded Trophy - donated by the ASF (Norway) with the intention to bring as many women into the Soling competition - awarded to the best-placed woman in the event.
- Prizes for the first 5 overall are awarded.
- Prizes for the each race winners are awarded.
18. Disclaimer of liability
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authorities will not take any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
The responsibility for the decision of the person in charge to participate in a race or to continue with it is solely with him; to that extent he also takes the responsibility for his crew. The helmsman is responsible for the qualification and the correct nautical conduct of his crew as well as for the suitability and the transport-safe condition of the registered boat. In cases of Force Majeure or on grounds of administrative orders or for safety reasons the organizer is entitled to make changes in the realization of the event or to cancel the event. In these cases there does not exist any liability for compensation of the organizer to the participant. In case of a violation of obligations that do not constitute primary respectively material contractual duties (cardinal obligations), the liability of the organizer, no matter because of which cause in law, for material and property damages of all kinds and their consequences that arise to the participant during or in connection with the participation in the event resulting from a conduct of the organizer, his representatives, servants or agents, is restricted to damages that were caused willfully or grossly negligent. When a violation of cardinal obligations occurs, in cases of simple negligence the liability of the organizer is limited to foreseeable, typically occurring damages. To the extent that the liability for damages of the organizer is excluded or restricted, the participant also relieves the staff – employees and representatives, agents, servants, sponsors and individuals who provide or drive salvage, safety or rescue vessels or assist with their use - from the individual liability for damages, as well as also all other individuals who were instructed to act in connection with the realization of the event. The effective racing rules of the ISAF, the class rules as well as the regulations of the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions are to be complied with and are expressly recognized. The German law applies.
19. Insurance
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance cover while racing of not less than 1.500.000 Euros for the duration of the regatta or the equivalent.
20. Right to use name and likeness:
Taking part in this race, the competitor gives the organization and the race`s sponsors the right to use and show static or moving photos, films or TV recording and all sorts of duplication of himself during all the `Soling Class European Championship 2015` He also gives right to use, without royalties, his own image on all materials of such event.
21. Accommodation
There are no accommodations available direct at premises of the Yachtclub.
