Weekend training in Norway at Grimstad

The weekend of May 4th-5th saw 10 Soling from Bergen on the west coast to Tønsberg just across the Oslofjord from Hankø gather in Grimstad for a Tune Up Weekend. Grimstad is one of those cozy south coast small villages in Norway, not far from Arendal who held the 2007 Soling EC. Big swell at the US Championship CAN 225 wins

Mission Bay Yacht Club based in San Diego, hosted a successful US Championship, mainly put together by Pam and John Walton, club members and Soling lovers. 11 teams, 9 from the US, one Canadian and another one mixed showed up on Friday 27 to face the first three races of 8 scheduled at the Pacific Ocean, the West coast sailors used to the conditions of a really nice wind 12 knots reaching occasionally 18 knots at the gust and an incredible swell showed the visitors how it is done.  ...  read more

2024 GES Autonomic Championship

Last weekend, the Autonomic Championship of the Soling class was held in the waters of the San Juan reservoir (Madrid), organized by the Real Club Náutico de Madrid and the Real Federación Madrileña de Vela. GER 11 Dietzel, Zeileis and Ramoser wins at the 2024 Italian Championship

GER 11 ends up winning the Italian Championship, after Saturday and Sunday without races due to excessive winds at lake Como, their dominance at the first day was impressive crowing Michael Dietzel, Martin Zeileis and Hannes Ramoser from the Bayersiche Yacht Club and Segel Klub Kammersee(AUT). SSA - Chesapeake Soling Fleet – Spring Series

The Chesapeake Soling Fleet kicked off the 2024 sailing season with the Severn Sailing Association Spring Series on April 13-14. After a long and not so kind winter for frostbiting, the fleet consisting of 9 (yes 9) registered boats was ready to get out on the water. But mother nature was not ready to give up that easily. The Solings are back to Rio

This past weekend the RYC (Rio Yacht Club celebrated their 110 anniversary with a single race and a big party, where 6 Solings, 4 from the local club, one from the ICRJ , and one from Iate Clube Brasileiro (oldest yacht club in Brazil). Solings in Bergen, Norway

Bergen on the west coast of Norway, gateway to the fjords, has suffered from lack of Solings for years. But this is looking to change. The largest and oldest yacht club in Bergen, established 1872, held a combined Soling and Yngling Norwegian championship at their 100-year anniversary back in 1972.
