THE SOLING CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2021
This event will take place at the Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, from October 9 - 10, 2021

Organizing Authority
The organizing authority is the International Soling Class (ISA) with the National Authority Sail Canada in conjunction with the Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club.

1. Rules
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2 The prescriptions of Sail Canada will apply.
1.3 The ISA Class and Championship Rules will apply.

2. Advertising
Advertising including competitor advertising is permitted in accordance with World Sailing Regulation 20 Advertising Code

3. Eligibility and entry
3.1 The regatta is open to all yachts of the International Soling Class as prescribed in Championship Rule 4 - Eligibility.
3.2 ISA Membership is obligatory for all crew members. Membership fees will be collected from any sailor failing to present proof of previously paid membership fee.
3.3 It is also required that all yachts entering display the ISA sticker for the current year or proof that ISA sticker has been paid.
3.4 Eligible boats may enter by completing the entry forms on arrival and payment of the fees.
3.5 To enter the club facilities to use the bar and restaurant a proof of 2 vaccines is required by Quebec law.

4. Classification
No classification system or Quota system will be used.

5. Fees
The entry fee will be C$175.00 per boat. It may be paid at the time of registration via cash or credit card. The entry fee includes ISA Championship fees ($75); launch and haul-out; mooring; post sailing refreshments; and prizes

6. Registration
Registration takes place on Arrival at the Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club and will be open for check in October 8 from 17:00 -19:00 or October 9 8:30 - 9:30 am.

7. Schedule
7.1 Boats must be in the water by 10:00 am October 9, 2021. Competitors meeting at 9:30
7.2 Racing is scheduled as follows:
Race Details:
October 9: 3-4 races, beginning at 11:30, each race to follow immediately after.
October 10: 2 - 3 races, beginning at 10:00 each race to follow immediately after
On the last day of the regatta no warning signal will be made after 14:00.

8. Measurement
No measurement required

9. Sailing Instructions
Sailing Instructions will be available at registration.

10. Course Area
Lake St. Louis beyond the GUT off Pointe Claire

11. Courses
Standard ISA Championship courses will be used.

12. Penalty System
12.1 The One-Turn Penalty.
12.2 An International Jury will be appointed in accordance with RRS Appendix N. Their decisions will be final and not subject to appeal in accordance with RRS 70.5.

13. Scoring
13.1 The Low Points Scoring System of RRS A4 will apply.
13.2 Maximum of 7 races are scheduled of which 1 must be completed to constitute a valid championship.
13.3a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race scores.
13.3b) When 5 or more races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.

14. Prizes
Canadian Championship Trophy (Hopefully Tom can bring trophy from Cookie?)

15. Disclaimer of Liability
Competitors participating in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury, or death sustained in conjunction with or before, during, or after the regatta.

16. Insurance
Each participating boat shall have adequate insurance cover specifically including third party liability cover while racing of at least 500,000 CAN for the duration of the regatta.
