First league event in Norway

The fight was always close

Grimstad sailing organisation invited the Soling sailors this past weekend for Liga sailing. They had prepared three Solings for the visiting teams. 7 teams traveled to the area to face the event making a total of 21 sailors.

Unfortunately, the weather changed compared from a week ago, where cold air came in dropping temperatures to 10 degrees and lower, but a breeze were present with 10+ knots and becoming quite windy, making sailing exciting.

The racing format, new to the teams which used Rib's to achieve the team changes on the Solings while offshore in between each race.

The social was good, to keep the Norwegian fleet bonded even when winter is arriving and sailing will suffer a natural hibernation.

League sailing was a nice concept and easy traveling for the sailors coming from far, a good chance to increase the exchange in between the sailors without a towing effort, also the equipment exchange during the racing level the equipment quality to all teams.

The edition held in Grimstad this 2024 had winners the team from Grimstad Seilforening
Team 1 – Bjorn Johannson, Alf Larsen and Lars Ingberg in second came Team 2 with Giorgios N. , Vidar and Harald Hilde and in third came Team 3 August Austefjord, Orjan and Daniel.
