1 Rules
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
The ISA Class and Championship Rules will apply.
No national prescriptions will apply.
The Sailing Instructions may also change other racing rules.
The following racing rules will be changed: 28.1, 31, 32, 35, 42.3(c), 60.1(a), 61.3,
62.2, A4.1, A4.2 and Race Signals AP and S. The changes will appear in full in the
Sailing Instructions. The Sailing Instructions may also change other racing rules.
Amendments to any of the rules applying to the regatta must be approved and signed
by the ISA Liaison Officer (Mr. Ekkehart Steinhuber) appointed for the event.
The Anti-Doping-Regulations of the Austrian Anti-Doping-Agency will apply.
If there is a conflict between languages, the English text will take precedence.
2 Advertising
Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing
authority, in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20.
3 Eligibility and Entry
The regatta is open to all yachts of the International Soling Class as prescribed in
Championship Rule 4 Eligibility.
ISA Membership is obligatory for all crewmembers. A Membership fees will be
collected from any crewmember failing to present proof of previously paid
membership fee.
It is also required that all yachts entering display the ISA sticker for the current year.
An additional amount will be collected from the helmsperson or representative of any
yacht not displaying the ISA sticker of the current year at the appropriate position.

4 Entry fee
The entry fee will be Euro 450,00 for a complete entry made before March 1
st, 2016
and 600 after this date and includes Championship fees, haul in/out, trailer parking
and social program for competitors only.
This entry fee may be paid by bank transfer to SCE only

5 Registration
Check of Measurement certificate, liability insurance:
Saturday, 30 April from 1100 to 1800
Sunday, 01 May from 1000 to 1800
Monday, 02 May from 0800 to 0900 at the Race office of the SCE
The sailing instructions will be available during registration.
6 Measurement and Equipment Inspection
Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate and shall be present for
measurement checks.
Equipment inspections will be held:
Saturday, 30 April from 1200 to 1800
Sunday, 01 May from 1000 to 1600
Monday, 02 May from 0800 to 1000 (Late Birds)
All boats are subject to spot checks at any other time
7 Schedule
Sunday, 1 May, 2016 1400 Practice race
1800 Opening ceremony
Monday, 2 May 1100 First race
1900 SCE event
Tuesday, 3 May, 1800 Pasta party
Wednesday, 4 May, races 1900 PROFS Soling part
Thursday, 5 May, races 1400 Last starting signal
Prize giving ceremony
The scheduled time of the warning signal from 2nd to 5th May is10:00
The total number of races for this championship is 9 with a maximum of 3 races per
day.
8 Courses and Racing Areas
The racing area is the southern part of lake Traunsee, Standard ISA Championship
courses will be used
9 Scoring
The Low Points Scoring System of RRS A4 will apply.
Nine races are scheduled of which 5 must be completed to constitute a valid
championship.
When fewer than 6 races have been completed, a boat`s series score will be the total
of her race scores.
When 6 or more races have been completed, a boat`s series score will be the total of
her race scores excluding her worst score.
10 Coach boats
Coach Boats are permitted. All boats have to be registered at the Race office and be
marked during the event.
11 Berths
All boats, cars and trailers have to be put to the associated berths / places on shore.
12 Haul-Out Restrictions
Keelboats shall not be hauled out during the regatta except with and according to the
terms of prior written permission of the race committee.
13 Diving equipment and plastic pools
Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their equivalent shall not be
used around keelboats between the preparatory signal of the first race and the end of
the regatta.
14 Radio communication
A boat is not allowed to use radio communication. This also includes the use of
mobile phones.
14 Prizes
Following prizes will be given:
The European Championship Perpetual Trophy - donated by the Royal Danish Yacht
Club `with the intention of bringing together as many competitors of various
nationalities as possible for yacht racing in a friendly spirit`.
- The Royal Yacht Club of Sweden has also donated a trophy for the European
Champion.
- The British Soling Association Trophy - donated by the British Soling
Association and awarded to the best-placed helmsperson aged 35 years or
under on the first scheduled day of racing.
- Rien Segaar Trophy - donated by the Segaar Family (NED) with the intention
to award those in the middle fleet who makes the best effort to improve their
country scores. Awarded to the last of the best, the third team of a country
which the aggregate final scores of the three best are lower than the other
countries see Deed of gift below at this championship rules
- Reloaded Trophy - donated by the ASF (Norway) with the intention to bring as
many women into the Soling competition - awarded to the best-placed woman
in the event.
- The European Championship Perpetual Trophy - donated by the Royal
Danish Yacht Club `with the intention of bringing together as many competitors
of various nationalities as possible for yacht racing in a friendly spirit`.
- The Royal Yacht Club of Sweden has also donated a trophy for the
European Champion.
- The Steingross Trophy donated by Uwe Steingross and awarded to the best
European team placed at the Open Europeans - so called also European
Champion
Prizes will be given to the top 3 boats in the final results.
Prizes for the each race winners are awarded
15 Liability, pictures
Each competitor accepts to respect the RRS, good sportsmanship and all rules valid
for the regatta. Each competitor participates on his own risk.
The organizers of the Regatta do not take any liability for damages or personal harm,
to which reason ever except if gross negligence applies.
16 Media rights
Competitors grant the Organizing Authority an unrestricted right and permission in
perpetuity to use the name and the image for any text, photograph or video footage
of either themselves or the boat they are sailing during the event to be published or
broadcast in any media whatsoever (including but not limited to Press and TV
advertisements or Internet), for either editorial or advertising purposes or to be used
in press information without any compensation to the competitor or the crew. In this
respect, competitors and crew names and any biographical material of themselves
may also be used or reproduced in any way known.
Segelclub Ebensee is granted the right to receive any compensation that is
negotiated with any third party that wish to publish, broadcast or otherwise use such
material. As part of the registration process, each individual participating
crewmember can be required to sign a declaration 
17 Minors
Minors need the written permit of their legal guardians to participate in the regatta.
18 Insurance
All participating boats need a valid third-party liability insurance with a cover of at
least €1.500.000,- or the equivalent. A copy of it shall be provided at the registration.
DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors agree to be bound by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of
Sailing.
Competitors agree to take any and all responsibility for the nautical qualities of their
boat, the rigging, the crew‘s ability and the safety equipment. Competitors also agree
to take any and all responsibility for damages caused to third persons or their
belongings, to themselves or to their belongings, ashore and at sea as a
consequence of their participation in the Soling European Championship, relieving of
any responsibility the Organizing Authority, the Jury, the International Soling
Association and all National Soling Associations and all persons involved in their
organization under whatever qualification and to accept full responsibility for the
behavior and dress of the boat‘s crew, representatives and guests.
In any case, competitors agree that the Segelclub Ebensee, the International Soling
Association and all National Soling Associations, the sponsors of the Soling
European Championship and their agents, have no responsibility for loss of life or
injury to members, competitors or others, or for the loss or damage to any vessel or
property sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the Soling European
Championship.
The Organizing Authority reminds the participants that there is commercial shipping
traffic near the race area and the participants are expected to observe the IRPCAS in
relation to all such vessels. As part of the registration process, each individual
participating crewmember can be required to sign a declaration accepting this
disclaimer of liability.

20 Parking
Parking is possible near the SCE.
21 Camping
There is the possibility of camping provided by the SCE. Crews who intend should
contact the SCE, which will provide an area for a small fee.
