The last continental championship of the year, the South American Championship started with the right foot, two races accomplished by Odecio Adam the International Race Officer dedicated exclusively to the Veleiros do Sul Yacht Club.
Nice weather, nice wind, nice temperatures and a great competition at the water was the best advertising for the future Soling World Championship to be held in 2025 at this very same venue and dates.

The two races had a Southerly wind the first one up to 12 knots and the second one with up to 17 knots at some point, not much waves, a sun that required sunscreen and a water temperature close to a nice bath, most crew didn't wear a jacket and refreshed themselves with the spray.
The first race was won by local hero BRA 86 Hartmann, Sidou and Silva using the known Don't let me down …They were followed in a close battle by former World Champions BRA 73 Bergenthal, Goldmeier and Oppitz and in third the BRA 88 Warlich, Trein and Lamb.

The second race the battle were incredible with a fantastic start at the race committee of USA 853 Collins, Floricke and Celedoni which later didn't paid off its dividends and the race end up being won by ARG 2 Warburg, Celedoni and Weppler followed by BRA 86 and then BRA 73.
The day was called off with a late evening in a BBQ organized by the Brazilian teams and sponsored by team BRA 15 Carlo de Leo, with free beer and wine brought by the Argentine team. Another good understanding by the race officer not starting races before noon time unless necessary, giving lots of time for fun at night and a good recovery at the morning.

Today the forecast is about the same with probably a bit stronger wind and races are scheduled for 1300hs.
