Sunny, windy with 8 to 12 knots coming from the land, shifty but well known by the French sailors for the last race of the 2024 Europeans, being in held in conjunction with the Vintage Yachting Games at La Baule, France.

Team Helly Hansen NOR 131 sailed by Christian Nergaard, Johan Barne and Tomas Mathisen came not only to defend the title obtained past 2023 in Germany, but to show how sharp they are sailing facing their next event the future World Championship at Hanko, Norway in 25 days from now. The Olympic experience from Johan (crewed for the Swedish team led by Hans Wallen) the modern sailing view approach by Tomas a 49er sailor was a key result for such performance.
They went out with the responsibility to not finish worst place than 4th, but they came back with their 6th bullet at the event, leaving team Process Solutions HUN 11 with Litkey Farkas, Karoly Vezer and Christof Wossala who attempted in all manners an overall runner followup after finishing 3rd at today's race, a good result to the team anyway since this is their first competition after the pandemic times.

Local heroe FRA 198 Marc Bouet, Louis Etienne du Reau and Sylvain Chtounder despite an excellent race finishing second could not beat their rival not only now but in the former days at the AC, CAN 225 sailed by Peter Hall, Trevor Parekh and Kristoff Joo who finished 4th in the race keeping a point ahead the local team and earning another podium at their Soling career.

FRA 208 sailed by Marc Lefevre, Thierry Fouchier and Nicolas Heintz from Angers didn't disappoint and with their 6th place overall in addition to FRA 198 scoring and a great result for FRA 188 who didn't race this last race catapulted France as the winning country for the Rien Segaar Trophy crowning Francois Xavier Denis, Stephanie Brenon and Vincent Manach the keepers of the one for 2024, a must attend next 2025 Europeans, but not only that also Stephanie won the Reloaded Trophy for the best woman placed at the event.

The BSA Young trophy for teams where the aggregate ages are 100 or less and the helm 35 and under was not delivered since no one competed for it.

The Vincent Manach trophy awarded to Jean Marie Le Guillou, due to his Soling dedication for so many years, his deep involvement at the YCLB and also his trajectory in other classes and the Americas Cup for France, a decision made by the French Soling Association.

At the V.I.P race NOR 131 represented by Tomas Mathiesen sailing the Dinghy also won the race making it a perfect day for the team, the bullet, the v.ip. race and the championship with all the addons from the Vintage Yachting Games - congratulations !!

The 2025 European championship venue and dates will be decided next Annual meetings at Hanko Norway where 7 of the teams that competed at this event will be taking part in the Largest fleet of the year with about 40 boats.
