NOTICE OF RACE

Soling Class Regatta

organised by the Koninklijke Nederlandsche Zeil- & Roeivereeniging
(Royal Netherlands Yacht Club)

25 – 26 May 2019
Location: IJsselmeer near Muiden



1 RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS, 2017-2020).
1.2 The sailing instructions may change the racing rules.
1.3 Under rule 87 and 86.1(c), rule 42.3(c) for the Soling Class is changed as fol¬lows: Except on a beat to windward, when surfing (rapidly accelerating down the leeward side of a wave) or planing is possible, the crew may pull the sheet controlling any sail in order to initiate surfing or planing, but not more than twice for each wave or gust of wind. The pumping of the main sheet directly from the main sheet boom block is permitted. In addition, pumping of the spinnaker guy is permitted at all times without restriction. In this part of the Rule “pumping of the spinnaker guy” means repeatedly trimming and releasing the guy by any means. Moving the body as reasonably necessary to pump the guy is permitted and shall not be considered to be ooching (see RRS 42.2(c)), nor shall any rolling of the boat caused by such reasonably necessary movements be considered rocking (see RRs 42.2(b)).
1.4 Every person on board who has his domicile in the Netherlands shall have the appropriate license.

2 SPARE

3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the Soling Class.
3.2 Eligible boats may enter by sending an email to soling.secretary@gmail.com together with the entry fee of € 100,- to IBAN: NL95 RABO 0101 2555 78 of the “Vereniging Soling Club Nederland”. The email should state the boats name, sail number and responsible skipper.
3.3 No entries will be accepted after 20 Mai 2019, 12.00 hrs.
4 FEES
Required fees are € 100,- / yacht and have to paid to IBAN: NL95 RABO 0101 2555 78 of the “Vereniging Soling Club Nederland” of the Soling Class Netherlands before becoming official competitor. Foreign entries can pay during registration.

6 SCHEDULE
6.1 Registration takes place at the Regatta Office on 25 May 2019 from 9.00 – 10.30 hrs.
6.2 Dates of racing, number of races:
- Saturday 25 May 2019: 3 races
- Sunday 26 May 2019: 3 races
6.3 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race will be on:
- Saturday 12:10 hrs
- Sunday 11:10 hrs.
On the last day of the regatta no warning signal will be made after 15:10 hrs.
6.4 The Soling Regatta will be sailed together with the International Dragon Regatta in Muiden. Each Class will be started as a separate starting group.
7 MEASUREMENTS
Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate and a valid insurance certificate (NoR 20) upon registration. In addition, boats and crews may be inspected at the discretion of the Race Committee.
8 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available from 9:00 hrs – 10:30 hrs on 25th of May at the Regatta Office, located in the hall of the KNZ&RV clubhouse and will also be available latest May 20, 2019 on the website www.knzrv.nl.
9 VENUE
The venue is the KNZ&RV, Royal Netherlands Yacht Club, Westzeedijk 7, 1398 BB Muiden,

The racing areas will be approximately 1-3 Nm of the harbour on the Markermeer.

10 THE COURSES
The courses to be sailed will be of the upwind-downwind type, with upwind spreader buoy and downwind mark or gate. Courses will be laid with a leg length of 0.8 – 1.5 nm if possible.

12 SCORING

12.1 One races is required to be completed to constitute a series.
12.2 (a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
(b) When 5 or 6 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.

14 BERTHING
Boats shall be kept in their assigned places in the harbour.
Yachts may be craned in and out of the water at the facilities of the KNZ&RV after contacting the harbourmasters.

15 HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS
Yachts shall not be hauled out during the regatta except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the race committee.
16 DIVING EQUIPMENT AND PLASTIC POOLS
Underwater breathing apparatus and plas¬tic pools or their equivalent shall not be used around keel boats between the pre¬paratory signal of the first race and the end of the regatta.

17 RADIO COMMUNICATION
Except in an emergency, a boat that is racing shall not make voice or data transmissions and shall not receive voice or data communication that is not available to all boats.

18 PRIZES
With 9 or more entries there are prizes for the first three competitors. When there are less as 9 entries, there will be two prizes.

19 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4 RRS, Deci¬sion to Race. The organizing author¬ity will not accept any liability for material dam¬age or personal injury or death sus¬tained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
20 INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of € 1.500.000 per event or the equivalent.

Socials:
In the Pampusbar it is possible to order coffee and drinks before and after racing, and there are dining options (please make a reservation)
Each day after the racing there will be (limited) free beer in the Pampusbar.
After the last race there will be a prize giving at the Pampusbar.

Berthing and Launching:
During one day before until one day after racing parking of trailers on the premises of the KNZ&RV and mooring in the harbour will be free. The regular fee of the marina during non-racing periods will be € 18,-- per night.

Yachts may be craned in and out of the water at the premises of the KNZ&RV, during racing days and one day before and one day after racing.

Route A1 from East and West:
Exit “Muiden Weesp” and follow route to Muiden, enter Muiden on the “Weesperweg”
At the end of “Weesperweg” at the roundabout turn right and cross the bridge.
Directly after the bridge turn left into the “Burg.Raadtsingel”.
Keep pond at left side until end of pond, turn right into the “Julianalaan”
At the end cross the dike into the KNZ&RV premises.
