Superb second racing day to finish the qualifiers, with variable intensity from 10 knots going down to 5 and oscillating from the North to Northeast.
The races from Round robin two were finished and then boats raced the third phase of the qualifiers ending up that the Brazilian team from Tramontina, Agua de Arcanjo leaded by George Nehm, Marcos Ribeiro and Alexandre Mueller finished ahead in a tie with the Argentine team current world champion Gustavo Warburg, Alejandro Chometowski and Tomas Roldan , in third returning to the class also from Argentina Martin Busch, Diego Cappagli and Diego Weppler , local hero and sports manager of the VDS the team with Kadu Bergenthal, Eduardo Cavalli and Renan Oliveira and in fifth team Equilibrium also from Brasil and the VDS with Nelson Ilha, Manfredo Floricke and Vilnei Goldmeyer putting themselves direct to the Gold medal race.

From 6th to 13th went to an extra race with double points to reorder the score and qualify three more boats to the gold fleet. The race was difficult leaders lost the race at the last downind mark but a few boats regain the race in the last downind catching some extra pressure of wind (some say like a fallen gift from heaven) with no changes but stronger pressure than the boats ahead putting a crowd to round the gate to the finish, team USA with Matias Collins, Carlos Barone and Mariano Cambon from behind were at the end the leading pack in the jibe mark winning the race and qualifying 6th after the whole point calculation. The second place in the race was Brazilian team from Carlo de Leo, Gustavo Cestari. and Caetano dos Anjos, but not enough to qualify, the same to the other Argentine team returning to the class Santiago Nottebohm, Pablo Araujo and Lucas Tumulty who also could not qualify.
It was only the German team with Roman Koch, Simon Zehand Nicolas Mueller which finishing 5th in this race accomplished the last spot at the Gold medal race. Team Prime, commodore of the VDS Cicero Hartmann, Frederico Sidou and Andre Renard in sixth managed to be the second to qualify.

The teams were received the welcome of the press and a big keg of beer in lad after the gorgeous day with sun not hot and for some up to 5 races in the water.

Tomorrow the Silver medal race will start at 1000 am, and Gold follows the forecast is not so nice like today but with only two races by noon the first International Championship - Friendship cup will have its winner ... just a note that all boats have no points for the medal races.
