Great Soling sailing in Castiglione della Pescaia, Tuscany, Italy, for the 2019 Italian Open Championship organized by Club Velico Castiglione della Pescaia.
Five races were sailed, three on Friday in a choppy SSE from 9 to 12 knots and two on Sunday in a nice NW from 10 to 15 knots with flat water.
The Open Regatta went to UKR 1 by Igor Yushko-Sergey Pichugin-Sergey Ivantsis with five bulletts in the five races sailed. Major opponent was the local team Cvcp by Michele Tognozzi, helm, Andrea Pisaneschi, middle, and Haakon Haraldsen, owner and bowman. ITA 258 finished in second in all the five regattas taking the Italian title. In third was HUN 77 by Georgy Wossala, a long time friend of the local Club.

Second Italian was the Armellini family with ITA 241 and third ITA 252 by De Amicis-De Amicis-Greco Manuli. The 17 years old Marco Dr Amicis was presented with the Alfio Galeotti Trophy for the youngest sailor in the fleet.

Great fun for everybody and many compliments for the organization and the logistic of the hosting Club. The Mayor of Castiglione della Pescaia Mr Giancarlo Farnetani presented the Main trophies at the prize giving. CVCP will organize the 2020 Spring Trophy from May 30 to June 1.
