It was the start of a warm summer day on Lake Michigan. The great PRO John Strassman had set the perfect course. After race one was concluded with a victory from USA 824 showing their training in nice sailing conditions with winds around 14 knots from South West, an ominous wispy cloud descended on the course from the North. Immediately behind this was a cold front bringing winds of 21 knots sustained with gusts to 26 during the second race. Holy Hike fest Batman get ready for a Soling surfing safari! The fleet waited for 40 minutes for a course reset due to a wind shift of almost 180 degrees from SW to the NE. Quickly following the wind were waves topping out at 4-6 ft. trough to crest - really rad surfing baby! Bring it on! Our caped crusaders were seen in the Bat Boat trying to catch the fleet as the rest of the fleet all pumped their guys as Super Heros do! The temperature dropped from 70F to as low as 47F at the end of the race. Bring into the mix the super powers of team Crabcake! An action packed second race saw super charged USA 834 with hockey all star super strong Paul McGuan and his talented team featuring the great Willy Rozanski on fore deck. They showed the fleet their dominate big air skills to win the second race! They were followed by the most experienced helmsman in the fleet on USA 832 the tactical super star Charlie Kamps sailing with super strong Jon Bailey and the beautiful super fit Rachel Horton. In third came USA 845 with the great Dave Baum the fantastic Bill Bresser power house super famous Brian Lennie. Meanwhile at the fabulous Milwaukee Yacht Club most favorite club by many and host of the 2020 Soling Worlds Bat Man was seen doing keg stands chugging that fine Hofbrau German beer thanks to our fine friend Hans! That night everyone went to the beautiful super excellent Ashley Henderson's amazing downtown apartment for a special spread of gourmet cuisine in her elegant household. With balcony views of the race course it was a sailor's paradise! Good times were had by the fleet as they were talking about how Soling surfing is where the good times roll baby! They had become one with the boat. Rockets to power turbines to speed ready for more Soling excitement! It was an wonderful evening to remember!

On Sunday three races were held in a nice breeze from 12 to 18 knots from NE, the waves were not epic as Saturday but still good times for surfing baby! Heck yeah Honey! The great USA 832 won the first race of the day, but USA 824 nailing it the other two races to take the Cup. Second place went to turbo packed US 832 with 3rd place going to USA 768 from Wilmette with stellar sailor cool guy Tom Elliot, British gentleman sailing super star John Bayldon and hot shot AJ Brown. The traditional continued with filling the Cup with Mount Gay Rum and Tonic for all to enjoy. Congratz to the Bat team USA 824 for this victory before they attend the Europeans next June 26 to 27 at Lake Garda.
